Liberals use the “It was Southern Democrats” ploy in an attempt to
avoid culpability. It is interesting to note that “The South” is used
simultaneously to absolve Democrats, by saying, “It wasn’t really all
Democrats, just the Southern Democrats, who really don’t count”. At the
same time, Southerners are used today to confirm that all Republicans
are “obviously” racist. The South has moved steadily toward The
Republican Party for a long time but keep in mind Republicans did not
get a majority vote in The South until 1972 with Nixon. The South’s
move Right is attributed more to Democrats moving so far Left, that
they scare the average, “Non-Manhattan Loving”, “Non-Nanny State
Adoring” American.
